Corn is the main autumn crop in the province. Due to high production and stable production, high prices and good returns, the corn area of ​​the province increased for 14 consecutive years in 2002 and the corn planting area in 2015 accounted for 70% of the autumn grain area.

In recent years, due to higher prices and better returns, rice has been growing steadily year by year in 2002 and 2015, except for a slight decrease in 2013. Compared with corn, the price of rice is relatively stable. At present, the average price of rice market is 1.2 yuan/kg, down 3.3% year-on-year. The survey results show that the pre-sown area of ​​rice surveyed by the surveyed households increased by 7.5% compared with the previous year, of which early rice increased by 9%.

After solving the problem of food and clothing, the sweet potato planting area in Henan Province has continued to shrink from the original autumn grain crops. Currently, it has a small area among the four main autumn grain crops. The planting area has been more than 4 million mu in the past 10 years. Compared with several other crops, the area of ​​sweet potato is generally stable this year. The pre-planted sweet potato of 360 farmers increased by 4.5%, of which spring sweet potato increased more, reaching 13%.

In addition, the survey results show that Henan farmers have a strong intention to switch vegetables, peanuts and watermelons this year. Among the 360 ​​surveyed households, the area of ​​intentional planting of vegetables increased by 19.6%, and the area of ​​intentional planting of economic crops such as peanuts and watermelons increased by about 50%.

Henan Province is a major grain producing province, shouldering the heavy responsibility of national food security, scientifically adjusting the grain production structure, and doing a good job in reforming the agricultural supply side is arduous and significant.
