Lignite is a kind of coal resource with coalification degree higher than peat. According to incomplete statistics, the world's brown coal reserves amounted to 1 trillion tons, China's brown coal reserves reached 211.8 billion tons, and Inner Mongolia's brown coal reserves were nearly 200 billion tons. However, the lignite resources with such huge reserves are unstable and volatile due to its poor texture, which is extremely detrimental to the traditional underground mining. In response to this situation, Hebei Xinao Gasification Coal Mining Group and China University of Mining and Technology jointly conducted gasification mining research and trials at the Gonggou coal mine in Wulanchabu, Inner Mongolia. From April 18 to October 13, 2007, after six months of hard work, they built a underground gasifier and ancillary ground in a 1 square kilometer experimental mine in the Gonggou coal mine in Wulanchabu, Inner Mongolia. The gas collection system, gas initial purification and desulfurization system, and sewage treatment system are integrated gasification coal mining pilot project pilot bases.
The base was successfully ignited on October 22, 2007, and obtained underground gasification gas, indicating that China's independent innovative gasification technology without pit gasification underground gasifier successfully ignited and exhausted. According to statistical data monitoring for consecutive months, the Nissan gasless coal gasification and methanol, methane, power generation cogeneration industrial pilot project has reached 150,000 cubic meters of syngas per day, and the utilization rate of coal resources exceeds 75%. The air gas calorific value reaches 800-1000 calories, and the combustible gas generated will become an important resource for the national chemical production.
The new Austrian gasification coal mining project not only overcomes three key technical problems, but also makes breakthroughs in related issues such as the gasification channel penetration and the control of the continuous gasification process parameters of pure oxygen and steam. At the same time, the safety and environmental protection monitoring for gasification and mining has also been certified by the national authority Puni Monitoring Center and has reached national environmental standards. At present, Xinao Wujing gasification coal mining test has been listed in the major scientific and technological projects in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Among them, six technologies are applying for patents.
