On December 14, 2015, the Chinese government assisted the Azerbaijan municipal clean vehicle project and held a launching ceremony in the Zhonggu Industrial Park in Changsha, Hunan. A total of 45 sets of special municipal cleaning vehicles have a total value of more than 20 million yuan. It is the first large-scale government aid loan list for Zoomlion to participate in the “Belt and Road†initiative.

The environmental sanitation vehicles for this assistance include garbage compression trucks and sewer integrated conservation vehicles. The average value of a single vehicle worth more than 400,000 yuan will be mainly used for municipal construction in Azerbaijan. 45 vehicles will first sail to Shanghai and arrive in Azerbaijan by sea. It is expected that it will take 45 to 60 days.
Azerbaijan is located in the heart of Asia and Europe and is an important country along the “Belt and Roadâ€. Gazilov, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to China, said that “One Belt and One Road†has linked the common destiny of the two countries and is the road to peace and economic development. This assistance project has further deepened the friendship between the two peoples.
It is understood that Zoomlion is a leading enterprise in Hunan's equipment manufacturing industry and has strong capabilities in the fields of construction machinery, environmental industries and agricultural machinery. Currently, Zoomlion has established sales and service platforms in nearly 80 countries and has branch offices in more than 40 countries. It is estimated that in the coming 3 to 5 years, with the aid of the “One Belt and One Road†strategy, Zoomlion’s overseas market share will increase to 30-40%.
Liu Weizhong, assistant to the chairman of Zoomlion, said that each year, the Chinese government has about 100 million yuan in foreign aid projects related to construction machinery and sanitation machinery. The government’s foreign aid, US$1, can drive the company’s follow-on orders of US$7-15, and Zoomlion will use this as an opportunity to establish a distribution and after-sales service network in Azerbaijan.
