Samsung Heavy Industries or orders for 2 LNG carriers

As LNG shipments enter the peak season, speculatively-built LNG vessels may receive long-term lease contracts from BG Group. Under this circumstance, US-listed LNG ship owner GasLog may execute an alternative order for two LNG carriers at Samsung Heavy Industries before the end of this year. The right to take effect.

At present, GasLog has a total of 6 LNG ship orders in Samsung Heavy Industries, which are scheduled to be delivered by 2017. Four of the fixed orders signed at fixed prices will expire in this quarter. Industry insiders expect that GasLog will at least take effect. 2 alternative orders and is expected to sign a long-term charter contract with BG Group. It is reported that GasLog has already obtained BG Group charter contracts for 11 LNG ships.

Industry insiders observe that BG Group still needs to expand its fleet of LNG ships for the LNG transportation and trade involved in the upcoming Queensland Curtis LNG project in Australia.
