Chen Yongsheng, director of the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee, said: “In addition to attaching importance to economic development, the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone also attaches great importance to environmental protection and energy conservation issues. We enthusiastically welcome energy conservation service companies and people committed to the energy conservation and environmental protection industry. Our district has developed and cooperated in the low-carbon ecological field to jointly create a new model of ecological energy-saving services."
The Tianjin Port Bonded Area Management Committee and the Bayer Material Science and Technology Corporation jointly announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to cooperate with each other on the Bayer Eco-Business Construction Project (ECB) to create low-energy sustainable buildings. The focus of this memorandum of understanding relates to the construction of low to zero energy consumption building prototypes in the Tianjin Free Trade Zone, the largest free trade zone in northern China.
“We are very pleased that the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone will aim to advance sustainable building work and have the same philosophy with other members of the Bayer Eco-Business Architecture Plan Network in terms of sustainable development,†said Konig, President of Bayer MaterialScience China. Bayer will add a low-energy building to the big family of outstanding projects in the world.â€
Through the eco-business construction plan, the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone will create opportunities for innovative products and high-quality energy-saving services for enterprises in the region in the form of energy-saving industry development, including high-tech materials, building energy-saving solutions and materials from Bayer. Technology and other consulting services provided by experts from key areas of sustainable architecture.
The renowned Dr. Bayer eco-business construction plan in China said: "The Bayer Eco-Business Construction Project and the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone have cooperated in the study of low-energy buildings. Both sides can win a win, and they are the latest low-carbon construction in the world. The exchange of knowledge on technology has created a golden opportunity, and the architectural prototype of this cooperation will explain to people: Even in an industrial park like the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, the added value of sustainable construction is considerable."
As part of this collaboration, Bayer MaterialScience will also conduct environmental and energy audits of the building prototypes and work closely with the Tianjin Port Bonded Area to carry out a large number of special studies. These studies include exploring and formulating the park’s own building energy efficiency standards using a variety of products and services in the eco-business building plan. In addition, the two sides will also conduct research on the use of building energy consumption simulation and measurement systems. The system can monitor and evaluate the performance of buildings based on existing energy efficiency standards.
